Anna van der LugtSenior Consultant

Meet the team

Anna just completed an assignment with a commercial team of a large government agency, which she supported during an intense time of business transformation. Anna’s role was to streamline the suite of procurement templates and align them with the Government Rules of Sourcing (2019), including Broader Outcomes and Protective Security Requirements.

Anna was one of the first people in NZ certified as a Lean Agile Procurement© professional. She has inserted agile planning processes in the end-to-end procurement templates. She has customised the team’s supplier segmentation tool and methodology; and she has sanitised and standardised the team’s commercial portfolio plans.

Before discovering procurement as a profession Anna studied to become a Historian. This means that she has an incredible curiosity about people, structures and economic development. In all her working relationships Anna seeks cause and effect, higher meaning and organisational improvement.

Anna started her career in support services, moved on the facilities and lease management; and – due to her financial acumen – strongly focused on category analysis and strategic sourcing. This naturally led to the training of others and wider capability development.

Anna has her finger on the pulse of new developments; she loves strategy (years of working for Defence), creating something for the common good (years of being a public servant); engaging with a wide variety and cultures (being a European immigrant with family all over the world) and identifying a story behind all information (being the daughter of a professional writer).

This passion for process improvement, development of young procurement professionals and coordination of knowledge is finding an outlet in Anna’s voluntary work as IACCM Council Member and Advisory Board Member. She strongly advocates for the wider public sector to be engaged and committed to improving working relationships with suppliers.
